About us
The Beginning of a Legacy
Desert Creek Sportsman’s Club was founded in November 2018. It is also the home of Desert Creek Gundog Kennels, which is where it all began with a man, a plan and a dog.
Tony Marquez established Desert Creek Gundog Kennels over 25 years ago where he professionally began training and producing quality hunting dogs. He has also earned many AKC titles in the hunt-test circuit. Having a professional trainer on site is a great asset for clients who need assistance with their dogs.
Mike Sanders
I’m incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity of a lifetime—becoming the new owner of Copper Creek Gun Dogs LLC, doing business as Desert Creek Sportsman's Club LLC.
As a seasoned big game hunter, I was introduced to Desert Creek Sportsman’s Club four years ago and quickly became hooked on the thrill of upland bird hunting with well-trained gun dogs. What started as a new passion soon grew into a deeper connection. Over time, I developed a strong friendship with Tony, whose dedication to the field and love for the sport matched my own.
When the chance came to purchase the club, I knew it was the right fit—and I’m proud to have Tony remain a vital part of the team, continuing to lead our field operations with the same care and expertise that built this club’s reputation.
My vision is to grow Desert Creek into an even more exceptional destination for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you’re here for a weekend hunt or a lifelong tradition, I want this club to be a place where lasting memories are made—where families bond, friendships deepen, and the spirit of the outdoors is celebrated.
Experience & Knowledge
In addition to training sporting dogs, Tony is also a seasoned hunting guide. He has guided hunts for chukar, pheasant, dove, quail, duck and geese at several hunt clubs across the state.
He was the head guide at High Desert Hunt Club for 17 seasons. With this many years of experience comes the knowledge of what a world-class hunt should be, and we will make it our mission you leave satisfied with a desire to continue feeding the obsession.
